My Chevy 350 in My 65 C10 is not the original motor and I am trying to ID what year it is. I found a stamp on the block on the left front of the motor # MJ18800 someone told Me this is the block number but I think not because I can't find any info on the web with this number. Please someone tell Me where to find the block number. Thanks

The Chevy Dealer in your Town can tell you exactly what year it is by the number on the front milled boss. I have gotten info with the RPO. numbers several times. By getting the numbers off the back of the block and the numbers off the heads you can see if they are a match set of heads. The numbers are cast into the block and heads. Like Seetz said they have books out on all cast numbers now. The book I have with the RPO. codes in it says it is a 1967 283 cu. 210 HP. 2BBL.carb with a Power Glide out of a Camaro. This would mean that was the first produced Camaro year. That is the only MJ. Code in the book. The book I have is from coverage dates 1955 to 1996
