Just curious, whats ment by metallic in paints? whats the difference between metallic and none metallic? is it metal flake? Just wondering in simple terms, thanks Tom.

A paint that contains ground aluminium is metallic. Any paint that sparkles is metallic.


No better smell than that of fresh paint. I've been building and painting cars/trucks for 47 years. Not gonna stop now.

Then what is a Fire Mist Paint as it sparkles Too? Does it have metal in it also or ground plastic particals? Just courious here.

Firemist was a Cadillac metallic paint. I believe the only difference was the size of the metallic particles (between regular metallic and what would be called metal flake) but they may have been a different type of metal as well.
