on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Don't know for sure, but think "Bob Truck" is not a official GM name. The title say it weighs 7700 lbs. Mfg capacity in tons 2. Vehicle ID 3C613S118969 What purpose were they built for? What's the wheelbase, engine/transmission type and any other information about this truck would be great. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 1,144 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 1,144 | did you check the vin buster on this site? I've heard of a bobtail which refers to a semi tractor traveling with out a trailer. got pictures? bob slang usually means shortened such as a now illegal bobbed bumper.

It is probably what is also commonly called a straight truck. The term does nothing as far as identifying the truck. It could also refer to a cab over which is also called a snub nose or occasionally a "bobbed" nose truck. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 942 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 942 | Other than "Bob-Tailing" as mentioned above, I've never heard of the term. It might be a regional thing. Do you have any pictures of the truck?

Some trucks were also bobbed for aircraft towing. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 37 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 37 | Thanks, you confirmed what I was thinking about the "bob" term; it's just slang. I will get a picture of it up. I am going to put her up for sale soon. Wish I had kept looking for what I really love: an AD 47-50 Loadmaster 6400. Still looking for the right one. So if anyone hears of one, please PM me. Dave | | |
