It has a sub frame that bolts to the body just behind the firewall area. The Nova is a unibody car where the body and frame are one structural unit.
What the street rodders are referring to is using the sub frame from the Nova, and grafting it to your truck frame. Do a search for subframing and you will get some good results. Unless you narrow the crossmember you'll have trouble getting the wheels to fit inside the front fenders. If you narrow the crossmember you'll have lots of other issues to contend with.
My advice is look for something different.

It will work fine. I put one in my '54 Chevy Panel. '69-'74' Nova and '67-'69 Camaro are the same width.
