Is the cab on a '34 half ton held on by the spring hangers only, that are behind the seat? Seems like there should be more. Also do the wooden parts rest atop the frame with pads or is ther supposed to be some air gap? My old cab had no wood left in it so I couldn't tell.---dave

Well I am going with the springs holding down the cab from flying up. And putting several wood points on rubber here and there. So that would be held rigidly down and if jumping upward it (the cab)would have the springs hold it down. Still seems kind of wishy washy especially when I think of seat belts. I could imagine the cab flying off but the human belted in place would keep the cab on the truck!! ---davy

davy, you are correct about the rear of the cab and the springs, the springs alowed the cab to twist independent of the frame to keep it from cracking the seams and twisting the doors. There should also be a couple mounting points at the hinge post on either side to secure the front of the cap.

Thanks for the advice on that, good to have some reassurance. I did find the front points as well. Your truck project looks like a great one, the grill is nice on those as well as the opening windshield.
