How warm should the air coming out of the heater be? Right now I have the stock fresh air heater and i bypassed the control valve (it leaked of course) so i have the hoses connected no valve nothing. My truck runs at a constant 180 to a 190 degrees. Me and my wife took it for a cruise last night the outside temp was 54 degrees and the truck warmed up to the 180 to 185 degree mark but the air coming out of the heater felt like 60 degree air.
I went under the hood and both hoses were warm. Now I think that it should be warmer than that. Maybe I'm wrong but some insight would be appreciated also just incase it comes up i have the hoses connected according to the manual minus the ranco valve of course. Please help I'm looking forward to a toasty ride. Also I'm sorry for my grammar and spelling mistakes I was working all day and I'm so dang tired I'm Seeing two screens right now. lol.

I know when i touched the heater hoses that night i also did the touch test to the radiotor and hoses and they were a lot hotter than my heater hoses. I'm thinking I'm gonna have to spend a good day on this tomorrow. Just my luck ya think ya fixed somethin nah heck i only scratched the surface. Thanks for your reply Denny. Josh S.
Also if anyone else had this problem before please feel free to pitch in Heaters and Electrical aren't my cup of tea.

| | | | | Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 1,644 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 1,644 | I ran my motor about 10-15 minutes after I got my heater reinstalled and noticed that the heater hoses took longer to heat up than the radiator hoses, especially the return side hose. Finally they did heat up to the point, like Denny said, that they were hot! Then the heater began blowing hot air when activated.

But, after I turned the engine off, I touched both the heater hoses and the heater itself, and they were VERY HOT!!!!! Now I got heat wooo hooo. Thanks for all your guy's help.
