On my 46 1/2 t the gas gauge just reads up to 1/2 tank even when full. Any ideas as to why? I bought the truck as a 12 volt system, but I haven't found any additional add ons to the fuel wires (resisters or such).

I had the same problem with my 46, I found that my float was corroded so I replaced it with whole new unit that seemed to fix the problem.

If the sender is a new unit, it may need to be adjusted by bending the float arm to read correctly. Or there may interference between the pickup and the float arm.

Maybe you have a newer-rated sender and it is not matched properly with the gauge?
