I should mention this is for a 1948 216 engine.

#44837 11/29/2004 10:41 PM | Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 2,763 Carburetion specialist | | Carburetion specialist Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 2,763 | Normally when one has to have the choke pulled, either the carburetor has stopped up passages, or the fuel delivery system is not keeping the carburetor full of fuel. I would suggest checking the fuel delivery system. If that checks out OK, then a carburetor rebuild is probably in your future.

Is there any reason I should avoid running the engine with the choke pulled half way? I probably won't be able to get it rebuilt for a couple weeks, and I don't want to do further damage to anything.
