I have used it in several vehicles, and behind several engines, the biggest was built up GMC 270. I never had any of the shifting problems that plagued the column shifters. I can't believe I'm the first person that wanted to install a 3 speed shifter on the floor for a 1st series GMC. I tried Lokar, but they do not get back to me after several phone calls. The 3 on the tree works fine, I just want a floor shift since I'm driving this to Arizona this fall from the UP of Michigan.

Just about any shifter can be adapted to your trans, it's just a matter of getting the shift rods and the bellcranks positioned right, plus bracketing the shifter to the tailshaft of the transmission. Get a big hammer, a hacksaw, a torch, a welder, and a pile of scrap steel and make it work. It will be butt-ugly and unreliable, but that's exactly what we ended up with back when we were know-it-all teenagers!

The shifter unit itself is generic and should fit anything and everything. The thing that makes it year or model specific are the mounting brackets. Jerry pointed this out above.
If you find any shifter assembly, it can be made to work perfectly by fabricating your own brackets.
If you don't have the resources to do any fabrication then you of course will have to find a ready made package. Even one close in year/application would probably be a drop in...almost!
