Anyone have advice on getting a glove box door clock to wind.Not sure which lead is hot or ground.Any wiring diagrams out there?How about any parts suppliers or repair shops?Thanks for any info you might share!

How orginial do you want to keep your '37. As the old 6 & 12 volt DC clocks were bad about not keeping time I took a different path. I took the old clock guts out of my Packard's clock went to a local store (Target) that sells quartz battery powered clocks. Found one that guts were the right size ($12.00). Put it into the orginial housing, orginial face and hands, and now have a dash clock which keeps correct time. Downside...I have to replace the one AA battery twice a year.

There are a number of folks who rebuild/restore them. I purchased one already restored on ebay. I recommend checking Hemmings Motor News site & doing a search of their advertising section. Having said all of that my understanding is there are a set of points that close when needed, allowing a winding mechanism to wind the clock. It's possible the points just need cleaned which you could probably do yourself.
I put the clock in my 38 on a switch. When I go to shows I turn the switch on and have a functioning clock but when it sits for two or three weeks the switch is off so it doesn't drain the battery or wear out the clock.

I too bought a clock for the glove box door of my '37... no wiring worries here... Mine is the 24 hour "wind up" version which is perfect for the occasional cruise or show

I have thought of replacing the guts of it like beltfed... when this clock is running it sounds like a time bomb and ticks really loud!

I successfully installed a Quartz battery movement in the housing of my clock. Looks and runs good. The battery will last several months.
