While driving home Saturday our 53 starting missing badly, stalled out and we had a heck of a time getting it started again! I removed the module in the distributor thinking that might be the problem, or something electrical. Nope, I finally looked at the bowl sites, they were full to the top. Checked the fuel filter, looked fine, pulled the jets thinking something was clogged up,didn't find anything,cleaned them anyway, but everything was still tight. It seems to have adjusted the fuel level on it's own to a stage that was flooding the carb out. After adjusting the fuel level, runs great again. This is the 2nd time this has happened. Anybody else experience this type of problem with a demon carb?

Isn't that basicaly a Holley? I would check the floats for a leak, they could be taking on fuel slowly changing the float level. Also ckeck the seat and make sure its tight in the housing. Joe

If it's like a Holley, the needle valves will get stuck with the smallest dirt particle entering into the carb. Adjusting the float level allows the dirt to pass through then the next piece of dirt will start your overfueling problem all over. Change to a better fuel filter and check your filler neck, gas cap, sending unit gasket etc. to see if you have dirt entering the tank.
