I have a re-built 1954 235 in my 53, I was thinking about putting a dome cover from a 216 on it to get the "look". Some day when time and money aren't an issue maybe a 216 will go in as original. what would I need to do to use the dome cover/valve cover from a 216 on my 235.
Thanks for any thoughts, ideas or suggestions.
Mike

Tim,
Do you know if there is anything that needs to be drilled and tapped to use the valve cover, will it seal up on the 235 block?

You just change out 2 rocker arm studs with the studs in the kit that tclederman shows. If you have a 216 laying around or know of one just swap out studs from it.

Mike,

Nothing needs to be drilled or tapped. It seals fine on 1954-1962 235 and 261 blocks. Just make sure the entire bottom edge of the valve over is even/level.

The 4 holes for the machine screws that held the original valve cover in place are covered up by the old-style valve cover.

And don't forget to use an old style gasket.
