Denny Graham, you posted a spray can color for the dash colors on the AD trucks a while back. Can you post the color numbers again, I missed place the post. Thanks Saderdog

Pick-up style cab?

Denny should have the info but he will need to know the year. There were at least 3 different pick-up cab "standard" colors during Advance-Design years.

Panel trucks had a different color and Suburbans had at least two different colors (different from the pick-up-style cab interior color in a particular year).

What I would like is the can number on the Hammered spray paint that he used for his truck, it was a brown Rust Olem brand in a bronze I think..close to the champ. color used on the 49 up dash hope this is what he will need Thanks for your help Saderdog

I haven't found any rattle can color that is right for the interior of any year AD. I do believe that there were a few tries by me and the others to find a simple solution but the only color for the ’49 dash in my opinion is PPG DBU/DBI #27467. What those tries were I would have to search the archives to find them, but you can do that also.
If it’s the ’54 your working on then I believe Tim has the color numbers on his '54 site at http://www.1954advance-design.com/AdvanceDesignTrucks/Colors/Advance-Design-Colors.html . And if you are working on the ’54 you should visit his site. There is a wealth of information on it, and every time I visit it I find something new that I didn’t know before, thank you Timothy!
The only hammered finish in the AD's interior were the heater housings.
The early Art Deco 1941-47 1st. interior were a sort of hammered finish.

Hi everyone,
I have purchased a NOS sunvisor for my 1953, I brought a painted plaque with the PPG 27467 and the visor, which has a painted mounting bracket to work and did a color measurement on our color meter, they measured virtually exactly the same, there was a slight difference detected and was attributed to the bracket being slightly "flatter". Our measurement equipment is nto designed to determine how much flattener, if any would be added for an "exact match", and frankly I am so thrilled with the accuracy of the match, i don't really care. If someone wanted to play around I am sure you could nail the amount of flattener to add, not sure what that would cost, in time and materials, and it is beyond what the naked eye can detect. So in my book, PPG 27467 it is, which is good because the interior is already shot that color!

Well besides me, your the second one that I've heard from that has shot that formula and agrees that it is a close enough match that it would pass any judgment at any show. Light reflection is gonna give you all sorts of different effects or shades because the metallics in the newer paints are different than the original. The original compounds are simply no longer available. But it's pretty durn close as fur as I'm concerned.
Oh yes, saderdog, I did look those rattle can colors up and if your not a perfectionist, here are a few that are close, not right on but close: Duplicolor, T415 Dark Bronze Mist, T500 Arizona Beige. If you still want to go with a hammer tone, Hammerite Rust-Cap 41185 Bronze.
