HOOD 15mph-20 mph max - PICK IT UP 40 mph AND NOT
ONLY DID IT BACKFIRE A COUPLE OF TIMES BUT THE TRUCK
WAS 'WOBBLING" "SHAKING" SO MUCH IT SCARED ME TO
TURN BACK - WHAT IS GOING ON :confused:

#43837 04/12/2004 5:56 PM | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 3,458 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 3,458 | Wobbling can be caused by a number of things, from a bad alignment to worn king pins or ball joints, to bad or unbalanced tires, bent wheels, loose steering components, bad spring shackles, bad wheel bearings, etc. A common troubleshooting practice is to rotate the front tires to the rear to see if anything changes, then start looking for loose and worn parts. Have someone turn the steering wheel while you watch for slop in the linkage. After you get everything checked out, take it to an alignment shop and get the alignment checked. Toe out tends to cause wandering and shaking.

and clean/after messing with the carb/idle/jets
the backfiring stopped/the steering wheel does
not wobble/still troubleshooting/ will let you all
know :p

He slowed down and stopped as soon as he could get off the road. He said it made a loud bang under the hood and started vibrating badly. He looked under the hood and the oil filler cap was off. He thought somehow he built up pressure and blew it off. I went back down the road to see what fell off. It was one fan blade that had broken off. Then we could see that the fan blade came off bounced on the underside of the hood and knocked the filler cap off in the process. A 3-sided blade makes a bad vibration!

flat concrete - they wobbled so much it was scary - put
two old wheels /tires balanced ect. - went for a spin and
what a diffrence - truck was 'sober' - there was a bit of
to much play on the sterring wheel - what is up with that :confused:

Worn king pins (or ball joints if you don't have king pins)
worn tie rod ends
worn steering gear
worn spring shackles
worn spring eyes
or a combo of all of them.
