If you want a different steering axle, find a modern axle from a bob tail with hydraulic brakes. Center to center of spring center pin holes; 26 and 13/16 inches.
Wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface; about 69.5" (within a 1/2").
So that axle would have to be narrowed approximately 20" that is way to much to leave you any spring pad to put the springs on.
What is the present spring center distance on that axle? Subtract 20" from it, divide by two, and see if that far out from the existing center bolt hole you can put a new spring center bolt hole with u-bolt holes around it?
Even if the measurements worked out I agree with crenwelge, it's obsolete.
Also, the chances of finding a strong enough front axle that is both desirable and narrow enough to fit without cutting and welding (only re-drilling spring bolt holes) is slim to none, and slim just left.
I have searched and searched for several years now for just that axle, and closest I have found is the P30 and or 3500HD axle, but they still need narrowing 8-10". As a side benefit these axles have the correct bolt pattern for and AD and slightly newer truck.
