No sub-frame. Would like to use a stock steering gear box and NEED A PITMAN ARM. Any recommendations, hints, parts or advice?

Are you looking for a restored truck, a street rod, cruiser, work wagon? An original engine and tranny would be great, but you'd be limited to how hard you could take it out and cruise with it, and on the other hand, a 350/350 combo would be so easy, and you'd have all the power you could want. Parts would be a snap to locate. It's all up to you and what you want. I've seen fully rebuilt engines sell for just a couple hundred dollars. Used engines sell real cheap if they sell at all. Transmissions aren't listed as often but don't bring a lot of money when they do sell. The shipping would be expensive. I'm more of a restoration guy instead of a restorod guy so my vote is to restore it.  FYI, if you can figure a way to get it home I have a serviceable 216 out of a '40 car that I'll GIVE you if you want it. You come and get it or you set-up & pay the shipping.

This truck, 1936 1/2-ton Chevy pickup, is already set up with a 3:55 ration car rear end ('55-'56 Chevy). I'm leaning towards a 250 cu in 6-cyl with 350 turbo trans for fuel economy and driveability.
Anyone out there used this combo? Problems? Tips! There were 2 types of truck available- High cab for 1/2 the year, Low cab for the 2nd half year. There were MANY differences so you need to identify which truck you have. Post a picture and we'll be able to tellin a second if you any trouble. I'm trying to stay stock so can't help you with your engine choice.

Steering column out of truck and pitman arm apparently lost in the shuffle. If other year pitman arm will interchange - which years are they? Part No.?
