I think $2000 to $2500 doesn't sound out of line for a running 4x4 with the plow. But your the one interested, not me...so you really need to ask yourself what's it worth to you?

Good luck!

If you've got a use for it, seems like a good candidate. Pictures not the best, can't tell if it's got duals in back, or even if all the wheels are there. Lots of coolness there, no doubt a seriously tough truck.

I doubt you'd ever get a running plow that size for less than $2500, but seems unlikely that you'd get too much cash out of it if you wanted to sell it down the road. There will undoubtedly be maintenance & repair issues, as on ANY old truck. In other words, don't expect to make money on the truck.

Now, making money WITH the truck, that's a whole 'nother subject . . .

It's an old chevy army 1 1/2 ton truck. My concern is that plow is so big and weighs so much it can't be on a hydraulic lift which means it would be dragging the ground all the time.

This huge plow is hydraulically lifted without any problems. I tried to move it with a tractor and loader but as soon as the loader lifted it off the ground, the rears lost traction. But they work like they're supposed to on trucks.

If you read the questions/answers on the bottom the seller says that he "raised and lowered the plow." That seems to say that it is not dragging the ground all the time.

With a split plow like that, if it did drag you'd have to drive it backwards all the time or dig it in.

The outside rear tires are missing, and he says the rubber is old, so add another 10-15 hundred bucks on top of the purchase price. If it's only been 2 years since it was driven and was restored prior to that, sounds like it would be a good buy overall.

Regardless, I can think of a load of places up in our local mountains where the locals would pay you to clear thier driveways and access roads in the winter. So if you live someplace where it would be useful it's a decent idea. The rest of the year tho, it's jus plain cool! grin

Thanks for the replys!! I had to work and missed the auction for the truck. I would would have taken the plow blade off and used the truck for utility purposes around my place. I'll keep looking around. Thanks Again!!

Looks like it was bid up to $917.00 and didn't meet reserve.
It may be back.

The reserve was $1500 but flexible. But I doubt that almost $600 less is "flexible."
