I have determined the fuel pump in my 49 is bad. Well it is a later model engine, I think a 235 but anyway I was told it is the same fuel pump. Are there any tricks to this replacement. I have done several Chevy 350s and such and the only trick to them is a longer bolt to hold the push rod out of the way temporarily. Anything unexpected to the inline six??
Thanks

Turn the engine so the pump cam lobe is at the low point. That keeps you from having to compress the pump spring and holding the pump against spring force while you install the bolts. Otherwise no tricks.

I had to cut a wrench in half to get access. I mention this before and nobody else said that they encountered the problem. Also, if you have the fuel tank in the cab, you must shut it off because as soon as you crack the inlet nut, the tank will start to empty on you.
