The Edelbrock is readily available while a good Carter of the same size is not. Is one as good as the other? I'm looking at the manual choke (I think) because I can't figure out where to get the power for the electric choke :mad: :rolleyes:
I think this is a good pick for a 292 bored .060 over. Should be enough cubic inches to handle that size 4 barrel.

I like 2bbls because the throttle response is good at low/midrange RPMs compared to a 4bbl. There is no secondary transistion or fuel delivery to worry about.

Looks like a 500 cfm 2bbl is only 350 cfm when rated the same way as a 4bbl.

At last years Inliners Int'l meeting in PA in August there was beaucoup discussion on the holley vs Edelbrock 4bbl carbs on inline chebby sixes. While there was no universal concensus the Edelbtrock carb came out as being more user friendly to tune for the sixes.

I was set on the Edelbrock, went into my parts store, the convinced me to buy the Holley. Unless you find an older Carter, which is still a good carb.
And it does help with the classic/nostalgia theme, too.
