| | | | | Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 71 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 71 | the 2.8 and 4 cyl in any vehicle is a different bell housing than the V8. the 4.3 v6 is basically a 350 with cyl 7 & 8 missing.. it has the same bell housing bolt pattern as a V8.
I dont know what bell housing the 250ci 6 used.. I would ASSUME its the V8 bell pattern.. sorry on that bit. | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | That is correct, the later 7 bearing 6 cylinder uses the same bellhousing pattern as the Chevrolet V8s.

If the mounting holes are in line on each side, you have a 60 degree V6 (2.8, 3.1, 3.4) flywheel housing.
The T5 wasnt behind many 4.3's in the S-10. It was behind the 4.3's in the Astro Van.

I owned one not too long ago and i honestly could not image a manual astro van. Not available after 1989 that I can tell.
