The gas tank is under the bed. The filler neck comes out of the box side. I want it to come up through the bed floor. Any suggestions on how to do this? I dont have a welder though.... | | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 Master Gabster | | Master Gabster Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 | You can cut the neck off before it reaches the side and reroute it using a rubber hose and clamps. You should deal with the vent somehow.

Right now I have the pipe that ends right inside of the bed side. i need a filler neck to stick through the bed side. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 2,031 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 2,031 | my filler neck also comes out of the bed but just below the wood, still in the bed exterior wall w/ a somewhat D or oval hole cut there. the filler neck you see in the photo is the very same one i took off the cab passenger side of my 51. i made a plate (very carefully) and drilled three holes (one hole is above the wood) to mount it to the bed outside wall. i cut off & welded the overflow hose up as well as welded the now 180 degree inverted filler to the plate i made. i added a 2'' piece to connect the gas hose to as well as the new tank. http://s67.photobucket.com/albums/h298/1951otter/?action=view¤t=DSC00309.jpghttp://s67.photobucket.com/albums/h...¤t=3100lockinghoodlatch-02.jpghttp://s67.photobucket.com/albums/h...¤t=3100lockinghoodlatch-05.jpg be sure you ground the tank & sender to a good frame &/or cab ground.

I thought an in-trunk fill would be "cool" on a Dodge Demon as the clean look was what I was after. After unloading the trunk every 250 miles for fuel, I rerouted the fill neck to the rear of the car behind the license.
