For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 254 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 254 | the clutch slave cylinder in my 61 C60 still works but leaks and i don't like to re-bleed it every time i want to move it so to move it is a chore... (lots of grinding and no clutch) i would think that a slave cylinder for a 1/2 ton pickup would be same since the engine and trans is the exact same that would be in a 1/2 ton (235 I_6 4spd top loader) but i'd figured i'd find out for sure. Is the slave cylinder for a 61 C60 the same as the slave for a 61 C10?

I remember a few years ago trying to find a rebuilt slave for an early 60's v8 c10. It was quite the chore. I think your best bet would to be get a rebuild kit and do it yourself. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 | Hy OldIronChevy, yes the clutch slave cylinder is the same for a 1/2ton and a C60 series 1960-62, Napa part number UP19097 $46.99, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 4,961 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 4,961 | And be sure to buy a new slave cylinder. I drove trucks in the 60's with hydraulic clutches and it is way too much work installing a rebuilt and and risking having it fail. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 254 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 254 | whitedog: i kinda wished it was a V-8 but after your comment now i'm glad its the 235
3B: i live in a small town and only parts store we have is a NAPA and thats probly the one i'll go to so the napa part number really helps
crenwelge: i know what you mean i don't like to install rebuilt parts just cause i've heard stories of people doing jobs that take a long time and then the rebuilt part they got is junk
thanks for all the input Nate | | |
