hey guys, i got my power disc kit form performanceonline.com.
and i was curious if any of you have bench bled the master with the proportioning valve installed ?
i called their tech today and he said to unhook the proportioning valve to bench bleed, then screw it back on the master.
also, once i get it all installed, does it matter if the engine is running or not while i bleed each wheel ?
just trying to get all the answers i can before i start on it this weekend.
thanks guys...leonard

Yes, I disconnected the prop valve when I bench bleed. No, you don't need the engine running. You should also find all your leaks when bleeding the brakes. Start with the passenger side rear wheel. The wheel nearest the master cylinder, bleed last.

He is generally correct about the master but what will probably happen is that the proportioning valve will shut off one end - usually the rears as it senses a failure in the system. That will usually happen if the cylinders and lines are dry. I have used an oil squirt can to fill the lines & cylinders and/or gravity bled the system. Sometimes you get lucky other times they will drive you crazy. It is usually not necessary to run the engine to bleed the brakes.
