i am wondering what the difference is between a 3 termanial and 4 terminal ignition switch/lock cylinder. which one do you guys recomend i use?
i am going to try my best at cleaning the termanials on my original one, if i can get it out, but if thats a no go then ill go ahead and order one of the switch/lock cylinder you guys recomend from american classic parts.

How about running a wire from the starter switch to the + side of the coil, and then see if the points spark. If not, then your problem lies somewhere in the wiring/grounding of the coil and distributor, not you switch.
P.S. well i hot wired it and it worked, so i am figuring that its the connection with the switch, since they terminals were rusty and corroded. which would explain why it worked, and then just stopped working
i took the switch out and cleaned up where the wires connect with a dremel and wire brush end. they are lookin clean as a whistle. this should work becuase we tested the switch. tomorrow ill start her up, and take her around the yard. ( after bleeding the brakes, i got new brake lines installed!!! )
