old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! This would be the fuse block/panel that held about 6-8 glass fuses for things such as heater, radio, etc. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 5,708 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 5,708 | Rick, I have enclosed a link to a wiring diagram of the truck with a five fuse box. The power to the box is not switched with a ACC function on the ignition switch....I don't even know if it had a ACC position. The fuses are for HI, LOW (hdlts),PARK, STOP and TAIL. I think these circuits were always powered, or in the case of the headlights, powered when the headlight switch was pulled ON. http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/electrical/wiring/images/49ctsm1202.jpgStuart | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | Mid-to-late 50s? Rick, Stuart is correct for the 5-fuse box used through 1949 and the 2-fuse box used for the rest of the Advance-Design years. Most likely the same holds true for 55-60 (mid to late 50s?) trucks. Here is a 1955-2nd series wiring diagram: http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/shop/1955truck2/55ctsm1202.htmThe 55-2nd Shop Manual states that there was also an accessory junction block inside the dash panel. What year truck are you referring to? Tim | | |
