I'm looking for a steering column for my 1950 Chevy 1/2. I know there are several after market columns but I don't want to spend $500+. I was told 71-74 GM Vans work great buy I'm having problems finding them with tilt, column shift, and no key. Any Ideas what other vehicles have a good set-up (tilt, shift, no key)?

britcon, your truck looks great. The steering column is exactly what I'm looking for. I like that it has the indicator on the column. So it looks like I need to just go check out the GM Vans and find one that I like.

On the 67- 72 Chevytruck Site there is a great Tech tip on this install. A buddy put one in his 53 and it works great. Just make sure to take the column apart and make sure everything is in good shape and tight before you install it will save you time. I did this swap on my 68 and I am very pleased with the column.

I have a '79 column that's been shortened. I'll eventually get around to removing irgition & filling the hole.
