I'm redoing my '44 Chevy truck in the original outside color, Brewster Green. Anyone have a paint chip or color for the grill work -- chrome was out during this time -- and the interior?

For the interior, your best bet is to just buy the paint from Jim Carter's. It would be a tough one to match and the color they sell is spot on. I bought some and compared it to some parts on my truck that were not exposed and it was about as close as you can get.

If you are looking for the code for Brewster green in PPG's DBU, I will have that in a week or so. I originally ordered paint from Carter's and they as would be expected would share the code wih me and unfortunately, I now need more and they can not guarantee a match because they no longer have the code to mix properly. There paint supplier was bought out. I am now in the process of making a sprayout card and having a local jobber color match it. Once completed, I will have the code for Brewster Green. It was pretty upsetting when Carter's called me back asking me for the code because they did not have it but all said & done, I'll be better off for it and will then have the code for the future. Hopefully, I'll never need it.

I have the Brewster Green matched at DuPont. What I am referring to is the interior color as well as the color for the grill items that were chromed until 1942.

No chrome on this year so the bumpers, grille, hub caps are Turret Gray PPG DAR2847
Engine is gray PPG 33750.
Omaha Orange is PPG 60001, original number and still currently mixable.

Where was the Omaha Orange used?

Omaha Orange is an exterior color Chevrolet has used since the early 30's same a Brewster Green, Armour Yellow and Swift Commerical Red have also.

DuPonts enamel paint code for Armour Yellow is 93-3421 and for the Swifts Red is 93-1863-R.

The red, orange and yellow were used on commercial vehicles. The fenders and running boards were black.

Did you ever get that Brewster Green color code? I would like to have it for future reference, just in case I have the same problem you had and run out of the Brewster Green I had computer matched earlier.

Do you also have the color code for Brewster Green? While I am working off computer matched color, I'd sure like to have the real code number for future reference.

I have a PPG code for Brewster green but it will be a few days before I can get home to put it out here..... stay tuned.

I went through quite a bit to get it so I will be happy to share it so you don't have to do the same.
