I know he cut and moved the radiator housing and the latch panel because this engine is longer than the 1954 model..our pulley looks like a cone it looks like the one off an early Corvette. The fan is attached to the end of this pulley cone. The water pump pulleys we have seen are flat faced??? Our water pump has a long nose on it. It all works and we want to install our new 19" SS flex fan but what the heck did the PO do...why is our pulley in the shape of a cone is it a later model?...frustrated....T/C Steve...
ps..the pulley we have looks like a pulley off a 1963 235..can we keep this set up or do we need something else?

Or use it as is but the mess the PO made may not cool very well. The pulley you have may be stock off a 216.

You can Shorten the later 235/261 water pumps and install the pulley that is available through Patricks. Or you can try to find a pulley from a long water pump small block Chevy. (scarce) If you get Patrick's catalogue it explains how.  Roy
