My goal was to build something that one might have seen in the HS parking lot back in the '50's. In the CA desert town where I grew up rods, and customs were the rule, not the exception and that influence has stayed with me all these years. This is a straight axle truck (no one was doing subframes and MII front ends back then) with a 235, homemade tri-carb setup, and Fentons playing tunes through 26" Smittys, Lancer hubcaps, and honest to goodness Port-a-walls. My apologies to the purists and restoration guys here. I love looking at all the cool stock trucks on this sight. This is not a show truck. I drive it as much as my collector plates will allow. We took it to Covington last night to the Friday cruise. It's about 45 minutes from here. I enjoy driving it much more than showing it. It's lookin' goooood  You say it's not a show truck,but I think it would do pretty well over here! I love the stance, I much prefer them to be level even when lowered. I've never been a big fan of Lancer caps and whitewalls but you may just have converted me! I can hear those Smitty's mufflers right now!  Nice one!  Jock.
