Thanks for the git-back. Just got my first big block and the starter is bad. I have one for a small block, but didn't know if they were interchangable. Is there a way I can tell if the one I have will work? Thanks for the help.

If the starter mounting looks the same,the high torque starter usually has two leads coming out of the case about 3/4 inch from the end and ataches to the solinoid.If the mounting is the same both low & high torque would start the big block cold,but the low torque may not turn fast enough to start when hot.hope this helps | | | | | Joined: May 2007 Posts: 12 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: May 2007 Posts: 12 | pablos49,

I used the hi torque starter(With the two leads) Can't brag enough how it works, $63 at the Flaps. | | |
