Sometimes when you turn it to start the starter does not engage. Also, I'm trying to start it after the winter off and it will not start. It fired once, but does not other than that.
I'm wondering if the switch is the source of both issues. What do you think?

I just replaced the ignition switch and the electrical problems evaporated. The Bakelite was melted and the wires were shorting out intermittently. | | | | Joined: Oct 2000 Posts: 98 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2000 Posts: 98 | When I replace it do I need to purchase the tumbler too or can I use my current one?
Thanks!

It is a little tricky to get apart, but with some patience and care it can be done. Not sure how different your switch is though, but worth a look to see if it can be fixed.

Connections and starter solenoid trouble are not uncommon. The starter solenoid can usually be repaired with a kit.
