You know, points gap, degrees above or below dead center, dwell... I looked all over town for the book and had to order one "on line". I really wanted to tune it this week, and can't wait for the book. Had no luck at the local library, and different parts houses give me different info. | | |

AC 46-N spark plug @.035 gap
Point Gap: .019 dwell 31-34 degrees
Timing is 6 deg BTDC
Hot idle speed: standard 500 RPM
Automatic: 'As low as possible to obtain smooth idle and prevent creep in Drive or harsh shifts.'
Idle speed depends on whether or not you have the A.I.R. (smog pump) system.
'38 Chevy 1-1/2 ton
'49 Chevy 1/2 ton
'54 Chevy 6400 2 ton
'55.2 GMC 3/4 ton
'56 GMC 1-ton
