I did a search for a fan shroud for a 51 3100 but came up with nothing, Ive seen those cheap plastic ones that you have to cut out your fan opening, but has anyone seen or came up with anything better ?

Some people are like Slinkies, Their not really good for nothing... But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

Ill be watching this thread also, I do not have one & so far I do not need one for heating issues, but for safety's sake I owuld like to have a shroud over the spinning fan blade when Im adjusting things with the motor running.

I bought one of the plastic ones from Chevy Duty, they have a different name now. Anyway I had to do a little trimming, but it works very well.

First I made a cardboard template and bent 2 halves out of sheet steel:

Then I bolted it on and plug welded them together:

It works ok but the big fan is noisy. I'm going to switch to the water pump adapter and a smaller fan.

Yes the plastic is sturdy. It is actually fiberglass and holds up very well.
