I have a 47 Mint 5 window cab and no frame or box. I found a 55 first series nearby but that cab is shot. I was hoping the wheel base was similar but I remember reading that they changed? I want the 47-53 front clip and a flat rail box like on the 54-55. my question is. are the cab mounts and everthing in the same location. can I use the 55 frame and box for my 47 cab and clip. also are the hoods different for those years?

is your 47 a second edition, that year it changed in mid yr, so if yours is 47 second and the same style as 48,49-54, your in luck

The '47 cab mounts are different from the later years but I'm sure it can be adapted.

ITs a 47 or 48 from a Montana 1 1/2 ton. I was hoping it bolt right up? I'd lowball him and sell the extra parts on here. Great HOOD just not sure if it fit.

Ok, the '47 first look like 46'. The 47 second look like 48's and so on. Hope that makes it clear.

A 1 1/2 ton hood will not fit with 1/2-1ton fenders.

Oh I know that. I have 1/2 ton fenders/hood, just the hood is a 55, didn't know if it fit on 47-53

Rear cab mounts will be different, the late 47 and the 48 cabs have a single centered rear cab mount, later AD years have two rear cab mounts, one on each side of the frame.

Chances are you can re use the style of cab mounts on the cab you like. You can not change the cab mount styles from one cab to the next, as the internal structure that supports the mounts is set up for one or the other, depending on year.

I want the box, but is the 55 frame do-able or I may hold out for a s-10? but that seems like work?
