Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

The 55-63 Mariner Blue they offer is a very light Robin egg type blue not the dark Mariner many of us are use to. They have a picture of the truck color on one of their show links if you want to see it. The catalog does a poor job of illustrating it. A further whine while I am at it, their customer service is less than stellar. Poor or no e-mail response and long phone wait times. They tempted me with their recent sale I will not make that mistake again. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 2,644 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 2,644 | Yea, Brothers isn't on my list of possible vendors any more. They play too many games with their prices and a lot of things on the "sales" list are the same price as regular at other dealers while the other things they sell are more.

I live about a block from Brothers and have stopped in twice to ask about body items, namely floor pans. The kid didn't know what he was talking about and they didn't have them in stock anyway. Didn't know how long it would take. It's about 20 miles to the Truck Shop. Guess where I went!!

The paint color is as much my fault as theirs but the service is really poor in all my recent dealings with them.

I think there was a "Marine Blue" from at least 1957-1958 and it was a dark blue, similar to the earlier Mariner Blues (the two hues of Mariner Blue between 47-55) and the 1956 Regal Blue. In 1959, it looks like the dark blue (Harbor Blue) was metallic.
Brother's seems to a little off in the names and in the shades of blue.
Are you looking for a touch-up can (of 1950 Mariner Blue)? I got a touch up "pen" (1954 Mariner Blue) from a company that also packages cans to any color code (I think they are in CT). Brother's is a lacquer but I think the CT company packaged acrylic enamel.

If you could provide that vendor name for the paint it would be most appreciated. I was thinking for some small trim items it would be handy to have.
