I did a search for Holley/Weber on here, and even looked on Langdon's site, which is a little odd, and I can't seem to find any detailed pictures of a Langdon Holley/Weber single carb, stock manifold installation. Can anyone give me a good link?

Modified to say I want to show them to my wife. Maybe they will help convince her that I really NEED a new carburetor. wink

Look at my Picturetrail site listed below and then go to the 53' truck section. I have twins but you will get a good look at the carbs.

Langdon has a very poor website and hardly any photos of anything he sells. But a lot of folks here have them.

Is their printed catalog any better? I ordered one about 0430 this morning.

I got the 3800 running yesterday. (Single wire 12 volt alternator to give it some fan belt tension and a new fuel pump) but the Rochester B that I rebuilt leaks like a sieve at the ends of the throttle plate shaft, and a few other places. I need to do all new fuel line from the tank to the carb. Anyway, it ran, but wouldn't really idle.

My wife was sitting in it while I stood in front with the fire extinguisher, and I thought she was just giving it a lot of gas . . . until she got out and it stayed at about 3000 RPMs. Hmmmm. Adjusting the idle adjust screw out a few turns just shut it down. No mosquitoes in the back yard now, though. That reminds me that I haven't checked the oil since I towed it in.

How about running it over to my place near West Plains and fogging my ponds for skeeters before you fix it?

I have a closeup photo that Landon sent with my linkage if it's of any value to you. Maybe I could scan it and e-mail it.

The Holley/Webber works very well. I had one on my 235 too. I got a boost in torque, power, and a little extra revs on the top end too, with that simple little carb.

Bad news is, no one makes the jets anymore. This carb used to be the old Ford Pinto carb. The good news is, they're only brass, and can easily be soldered closed, and then use the drill bit of your choice to open them back up. I believe I got my tiny drill bits from Home Depot. I modified my primary and secondary jet until I got it to run good in Colorado's altitude.

Langdons parts are very good quality, and he is willing to help if you call him. But you have some figuring out to do anyway. Make sure to get his linkage kit too. And then, once you have the linkage in place, weld it. Don't trust the nuts to keep things tight. They'll come loose on you.

I'll see if I can find any pics of mine and e-mail them to you if you have an e-mail address you can shoot to me.

Hey, 53MoneyPit, West Plains is only 30 miles from here. Once I get the wheels and tires thing straightened out I'd be happy to do your pond. I'll wait until I get the printed catalog before I bug you about linkage pics.

Hot Rod Dad. Thanks for the info. I'm really hoping that I don't need to mess with the jets. Spent a few years in Denver and didn't like it much. Fortunately, both my Toyota MR-2 and my BMW 325is didn't need any adjustment. Electronic fuel injection is so nice, but I don't want it on my trucks.

I was looking at the Holley/Webber and was curious if you get any better gas mileage compared to a pretty good Rochester? This is my son's truck and since he pays for the gas I am looking at things to help him save a couple of bucks.
Thanks for any input on the carb change.
