I'd like to lower my GMC or at least give it a rake till I put it on the sub frame I have. What's the best way to do it and not to costly?

Take some leaves out of the spring pack.

just what longbox55 said. easiest and no cost involved at all.
although i installed a droped axle in my front, i also removed
1 leaf in front for an additional 1 inch, but in the back, i had to remove 4 of the 7 leafs to get a 2 inch drop.
it made it actually ride smoother.
you might want to look into a dropped front axle. a heck of a lot easier that cutting and installing a sub frame.

check my photobucket shots. his 3 inch dropped axle and 1 leaf removed. i might drop the front 1 more inch in the near future, and will do that by removing another front leaf. and will install longer shackles in the rear for additional drop.
