The title is clear through the state of Missouri with a issue date of 1951. The PO never titled it in his name but did a lot of modifications to the vehicle. I only have a title number not a VIN (no VIN plate). The title number is stamped on the chassis. Do you think the state of Missouri can trace back the title number to get the original VIN?

The number on your title is most likely the engine number. Contact the Ohio DOT to find out what their process is for resolving your problem. Info from anyone but them is hearsay. Good luck.
