Bottom line is leaf springs will probably be available to me. I see in parts catalogs that they are different springs than what is on my 54. Saw somewhere I thought that the difference may be in the width? Are they usable in my application? Someone heated front of mine in attempt to lower truck early in it's lifetime. That and it is also loosening spring clamps. I would really feel better about having better springs on it. Any way to use the 58 springs or should I pass and find a set of correct ones? #40871 07/13/2003 5:07 AM | | Anonymous Unregistered | | Anonymous Unregistered | Greg, The parts book I have shows the 55 second series (I am thinking this is likely the same as 58 - but someone will need to verify) has spring width of 2 inches. The AD trucks are 1-1/2 inches wide so the '58 springs are 1/2" too wide for the shackles that are on your truck or the U-Bolts where they attach to the axels. Also - the TF trucks have fewer leaves than the AD trucks. Doesn't look too good for getting anything of value for your truck from the chopping up of the '58.  | | |
