The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area General Truck Talk Car show

Haven't been on here in awhile, been workin on the old bolt. I just took it to a car show this past weekend and i placed third in my class. So i was pretty pumped about that and surprised because she is nowhere near car show quality yet but i figured people would like to look at it. So i figured i would stop by and let all of you know how i did. Later Justin

Just a "heads up" for those of you who have trucks....don't think for a minute that your truck has to be "show" quality to generate a bunch of interest at car shows!!!! If she will move safely down the road make the trip.....you'll be amazed at the number of spectators who will stop by and relate their adventures in a Chevy truck. In reality, a lot more folks can relate to old Chevy trucks than to a $75K Corvette and "Peoples Choice" awards are an added plus!

It's also a great place to plug the "Stovebolt" site....amazing how many folks are building "Bolt" trucks without knowing about the site. Having a sheet of tear-offs with the website URL already printed, saves time and opens the door to many new friendships. Isn't that what the "Stovebolt's" all about?

Good goin' Justin, I've been reluctant to take my truck to any shows. Then a buddy brought up the point that a lot of people just like to see an example of the old trucks that aren't all tricked out. So even though I'm not going for the judging, I am going to take her to a few local shows this summer.

Ya know Dave, that's a real good idea about the Stovebolt tearoffs at a show. My truck is no where near finished, in fact it's really just begun. But mechanically shes about 85% there and can be safely, reliably and comfortably driven all most anywhere as long as you don't have to go over 45mph. I've got the interior cleaned up real nice now and even the ladies don't mind going for a ride in it.
Now, it would be nice if anyone here with some graphic experiance could design a flyer for us that touted the Stovebolt's contribution to our restortion work. I know I would never have been as far along with out it.

Download yourself a Stovebolt placard to describe your truck in a very clean format, while plugging Stovebolt.com at the same time. I keep one in my glovebox and use it whenever I go to a show or a cruise.

I occasionally go to a car and truck show,but the local cruisins are more to my liking.I get a kick out of taking my 65 with the 500 cu.in.Caddy engine.It always attracts a bunch of gearheads trying to figure out what kind of engine it has in it.Sooner or later one of them will come over to me and ask.Many of them have said they thought it was a Olds,or Buick,and even a couple guys thought it was a Ford engine.
