(this pic shows sripped cab and seam in the upper left roof area) http://rides.webshots.com/photo/1418342078054402330ovysKbThere are a few seams that I don't know how to deal with? If you look at the cab from the outside front you will notice a seam above the window to each side under the lip of the roof. Since I had the cab dipped, this cleaned out any and all bondo, seam filler etc. Has anyone dealth with this issue before? I uess I could fill it with bondo, oe do you use a seam filler/sealer, Does anyone know what was used? Also on this area would I use Metal to metal filler or regular bondo? http://rides.webshots.com/photo/1418654689054402330xRhAsNThanks Jake | | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 53 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 53 | Nice 1800 ! It just depends on how much filler you want in it & how much time you want to spend on it.It looks like someone stretched the metal pretty good by not properly working the metal out and hid the evil deed with body filler. 1957 Chevrolet 1/2-ton Stepside LB in the Gallery My Photobucket shots The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." - John Stuart Mill (1806 - 1873) | | | | | Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 1,181 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 1,181 | Alan, In the first pictures what do you think I can so with the roof seam?

It probably was filled with lead from the factory. I am not sure if it was smooth across the top or if it had that seam showing. My 57 is smooth at the seam & is filled with lead. I am replacing part of my roof and am going to use plastic filler in place of lead. 1957 Chevrolet 1/2-ton Stepside LB in the Gallery My Photobucket shots The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." - John Stuart Mill (1806 - 1873) | | | | | Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 1,181 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 1,181 | Thanks Red58
I ain't fooling with the lead, Would it be Ok to use Metal to Metal, or stick with the plastic filler?
