I have a newbie question for you guys. The pumpkin of my truck seems to be stuck in low gear. It has been like this since I bought it. The truck is a '46 Chevy 2-ton but the differential says GMC. I do not see any provisions for a vacuum line or a manual shifter to hook up to it. There is the proper shifter in the cab for the tranny and one for the 2-speed which does not control the transfer case. Please see the photos in my signature and tell me what the heck is going on.

The shifter arm is sticking up on the top left side of the diff., it has a 90 degree bend in it, the strap is attached to where either the vacuum or manual shifter would attach. Odds are the linkage broke and the owner at the time opted to leave it in low and remove the broken parts.
Might find a shift fork & an electric shift motor to bolt on there, or the vac-shifter and all the trimmings.

I think that i will try to see if I can just put it in high and modify the strap to keep it there until I can get all of the parts I need. I do not plan to haul any really heavy loads in the near future anyway.
I sure hope it goes into high gear!
