http://bham.craigslist.org/car/582247745.html It's a shame that it got damaged, it looked like a nice suburban.

Wow! Master of understatement...

I won't say it can't be fixed but it needs a roof, driver's door, rear doors, side panel and who knows what all else. I suspect the other side is hurt too, and the cowl may be tweaked.

If it was within an hours drive I'd drag it home for free.

Yeh, right, $1,500! That seller would be smart to take Steve's offer.

I hate when that happens. He says that one door and the top are bent. It's likely a parts truck now.

Another view. I wish it were fixable, and we know that anything is possible. I think this one is for parts only!

You know, if it were within 100 miles I'd go $99 on it (Alabama from Seattle--no chance). I think enough of the interior window garnishes could have survived to make it worth that to me.

Before I though it was a panel...

Is that guy kidding, one door & roof bent? headscratch The front door is twisted, rear door crushed and the rear qtr panel is crushed. Not only that, but I would bet money the frame is bent badly and the entire floor & body is twisted. It would be good for some front end parts & probably the motor. I would not be surprised if the transmission is broken from the way the thing lists to the left. If I needed the front parts I would give maybe $400-$500 for it with free delivery.

if the truck was from the dessert it might be worth the $99 smashed but it's probably pretty rusty. looks like the local hulker going to get this one for scrap prices.

Definately a parts hulk now. Definately not for $1500! Two bills and a smoke wrench will save what is good. I would take the rear fenders even the drivers side. Part it I say! Part it out!

That sounds about right. But no, it's nine hundred ninety-eight dollars.

My map program says $1600 for gas for me to collect it. I'd probably be game if it were only $160. I can see parts there I'd like to have, but not at the cost.

Okay I've emailed him about parts. There are Suburban parts that could have survived that are hard to find. And I need some of them...

I just got to thinking. Without that roof on there it would look like a convertible.

someone bought it. after reading everyone's opinion here, I emailed him and offered him $200. he said he sold it and got 'definitely more than $200' for it. there goes my chance at having another garden ornament frown

Ha, ha! This is funny, because I have been seeing that 'truck' floating around all of the 'local' Craigslist pages I visit, and I have been thinking the same thing!

I can't believe he sold it though.

Yeah, I know. His ad seemed like a joke... except the 'funny' part of it was that it wasn't a joke!!

I wonder who bought it and what they're gonna do with it...?

They will part it out on ebay and get quite a bit for the usable parts and that includes the damaged parts too. The clam shell tail gate and the lid should sell for around $500 if they do not have rust. The interior trim should go for around $150 and if it had the seats add another $1000. There was a lot of good parts, but my question was could it have been salvaged. I did not see the later pictures until after I posted that question, and at that point it was obvious. If someone was to put a lot of money into it, anything is possible, but this one was toast!
