The bottom cushion of my '49 1300 (canook truck) was in need of replacement so I ordered up a seat kit from Jimmuh Carter that was advertised as "an exact match", "separate the men from the boys", "correct", etc.. Anyways, sorry, no cigar. Although the vinyl and colour was very very nice, the kit was not sewn in the style of the original and the piping was made up of vinyl sewn around a nylon core. This is not original although oddly enough the factory fender beading was constructed in this manner with a length of cord giving the shape. I was stymied as the dead smooth vinyl piping is not common at all worldwide and certainly not in maroon. You can still get white and dye it if you are totally anal. Then it occured to me that I could reuse the length of piping that is hidden by the top cushion when the seat is installed. Voila! And it is beautiful.
I must say that Jimmy Carter phoned me personally to answer my complaint and was very gracious, offering to refund my money and expressing regret that this was the best he could come up with. Now I have to have a go at him for the rubber floor mat that I bought from him that seems to be dissolving into black crumbs LOL.
Spring is here and I've been driving the Bolt for 3 days now.
Things are looking up.

Alas you are discovering the common lament about repop parts. The quality is often lacking.

Discovered that MANY years ago.
The upholstery kit was very good, just wrong.
The mat, however, is hilarious.
Carter's has always made good on short shipment, duff parts or pretty well any gripe at all. You'd expect no less but seldom is it so easy.
