Got my leafs apart ready for sandblasting. The rear shackles look real good after blasting and paint. Should I reuse the rear spring eye pins and retainer pins? There is some wear on the spring eye pins and the bushing look a little worn as well. The front spring shackles need replaced along with all front pins and bushings. Are there any vendors that sell these things for the 2-tons? If so...can you point me in the right direction?

I bought every bit of hardware I need for my springs, as well as completely new springs, from http://www.eatonsprings.com/
Including front shackles complete,
bolts and bushings for rear ends of front springs,
pins bushings and lock pins for rear springs and shackles,
U-bolts and nuts for front and rear.

I found a local truck shop and had them re-bush my spring and shackle and got new pins as well. Seemed the right course of action because they have all the stuff on hand to press them out/in and ream as needed. Also had them replace the center bolt and assemble the spring, the whole process is a lot easier to do with the right tools!

I just had the rear springs etc rebuilt on my 53 flated and a local shop had all the parts at prices a fraction of some of the big catalog vendors. Most towns of any size have such spring rebuilders, hope our local guy lives to be a hundred.

I've had luck with the local shops for parts as well but I've saved a ton having parts trucks with good non worn parts too.

I was wondering if on your leaf springs there is GM-O embossed on the edges of the springs.
I know this ain't no big thing but it happens to be there on the edges of my springs which are on a 52 chevy 2ton. I was just wondering if it is a common thing, but then rust could make it disappear.
