I know I could go with the T-5 but I don't want to cut the floors and not have it original. I got my info packet from GM the other day, and they say there was an option for the OD for my model, but it was only available with 4:11 gears(I have 3:73)and don'
t think that should be an issue. My question is this...what exactly is the correct Borg Warner unit I'm looking for? R-10 or the R-11? I have some friends that are involved with sprint car racing and have asked several of them to keep their ears open for the unit I may need, and leads are coming in, but I want to make sure I get the right unit to make the install go as easy as it can. I've been looking on the web and all through the search files, but can't seem to find the right info. There is just too much info out there, and all I want to know is which unit am I looking for? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Both will work fine, I beleive that the later unit is a bit longer and may require a shorter driveshaft.

Both OD transmissions are 22" long. In this instance you will have to modify the driveshaft. The later Saganaw unit will require a fine spline front yoke and some tweaking of the shifter rods. Either one would work fine in your truck with the 3:73 gears.

I found my R10 at a swap meet. Try digging around there, they exist but can be difficult to find. | | |
