I replaced points, plugs, cap rotor, etc. I checked the timing, and it was right at the last mark on the advanced side timing mark.
Other than the backfire thru the carb once in awhile, this engine has alot of power & torque!! TIA, David

If it does it as you increase the throttle it may be a low float level or sticking power valve or weak accelerator pump. If it does it as you run along it is probably in the ign. system.
