Hi Guys,
Once in awhile the 230 will sneeze thru the carb, you can smell something a moment later. I replaced points, plugs, cap rotor, etc. I checked the timing, and it was right at the last mark on the advanced side timing mark.

Other than the backfire thru the carb once in awhile, this engine has alot of power & torque!!
TIA,
David

Have you checked the plug wires? Try advancing the timing a little more. If it does it as you increase the throttle it may be a low float level or sticking power valve or weak accelerator pump. If it does it as you run along it is probably in the ign. system.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.
