Very nice write up. Most of the bodymen I know in todays shops are parts replacers. I do know a couple of guys like you who are what I consider real bodymen.I also learned to do body work by working the metal to use as little filler as possible. The older trucks are in my opinion much easier to work on than todays thin aloy metals. Try to pick & file a hood on a Kia and see how quickly you go right through the metal.I haven't done body work for over 20 years until this last year, and its amazing how quickly it all comes back. I am having a great time with my 57 and love this as a hoby.

tell me, where does one purchase a slap hammer? Is that the same thing that Martin calls a "spoon"?

Martin, doesnt really make a good slapper, I have one and use it for prying.

My slappers came from www.covell.biz but Ron no longer makes them.
If you are interested drop me a PM Ill send you the emaill address of another guy who makes some nice slappers, I think they are like 40 bucks.

Well a full time job and also going back to school pretty much eat up my free time. I was hoping to have a few out by now but i dont, am shooting for this winter or next spring to have a metal finishing/dent repair video out.
