I believe mine was changed out along the way. Also, is the transmssion the same for the smaller trucks or is it a heavier version?

You may have had early 4spd w/out synchros and have to double clutch up and down shifting, a pain! Maybe someone put in a later trans for this feature. Don't know what model it is in early trucks.
